Land Development Project Manager
A leading civil engineering consulting firm is seeking a Land Development Project Manager to join its growing team in St. Louis, MO. This individual will play a key role in delivering a wide variety of commercial, residential, mixed-use, industrial, and institutional development projects throughout the region.
This is an opportunity for an experienced civil engineering professional who enjoys managing client relationships, mentoring staff, and leading projects from concept through construction.
Position Overview
The Land Development Project Manager will oversee the planning, design, permitting, and execution of site development projects while serving as a trusted advisor to both public and private-sector clients. The successful candidate will have a strong technical background in site civil engineering and a passion for helping communities and developments grow.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage land development projects from initial due diligence through construction completion
- Lead the preparation of:
- Site development plans
- Grading and drainage designs
- Erosion control plans
- Utility infrastructure plans
- Stormwater management systems
- Coordinate with municipalities, utility providers, and regulatory agencies
- Develop project schedules, budgets, and client deliverables
- Oversee permitting and entitlement processes
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, developers, architects, and contractors
- Mentor and develop junior engineering staff
- Support business development efforts and assist in expanding client relationships throughout the St. Louis market
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) licence
- 10+ years of land development experience
- Experience managing multiple projects and client relationships
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Knowledge of local design standards and permitting processes
- Strong communication and project management skills
Preferred
- Existing relationships within the St. Louis development community
- Experience with commercial, industrial, residential, healthcare, education, or mixed-use developments
- Experience leading project teams and mentoring junior staff
- Business development and client management experience
