Senior Project Engineer - Land Development
An established and growing multidisciplinary consultancy is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to help lead a diverse portfolio of land development projects across Louisiana.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys combining technical design, project leadership and client interaction. You will work on meaningful developments from initial concept through construction while collaborating with professionals across engineering, surveying, landscape architecture and project management.
The Role
You will take ownership of complex land development assignments across the residential, commercial, industrial and public sectors, helping clients successfully progress projects from feasibility and preliminary planning through design, permitting and construction.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading land development projects from concept through construction
- Overseeing grading, drainage, roadway, utility and site infrastructure design
- Preparing and reviewing plans, technical reports, calculations and specifications
- Managing project schedules, budgets, deliverables and quality standards
- Coordinating with clients, contractors, consultants and regulatory agencies
- Supporting permitting and approval processes
- Mentoring junior engineers and supporting their technical development
- Building lasting client relationships and identifying opportunities for future work
- Collaborating with surveyors, landscape architects, project managers and other technical specialists
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- Professional Engineer licence, or the ability to obtain Louisiana registration
- Approximately eight or more years of progressive civil engineering experience
- Strong background in land development and site civil design
- Experience delivering grading, drainage, utilities, roadways and related infrastructure
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D or comparable civil design software
- Strong project leadership and client management capabilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high technical standards
- A collaborative approach and an interest in mentoring developing engineers
