Land Development Senior Civil Engineer / Project Manager
A respected employee-owned engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer / Project Manager to join its Atlanta office. This opportunity offers the chance to build a new hub for the Southeast, lead complex site development and infrastructure projects for exciting federal government projects while working within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
The successful candidate will take ownership of project delivery, provide technical leadership, mentor junior staff, and build strong client relationships. This role is ideal for an experienced PE looking to work on impactful projects while benefiting from an ownership-driven culture and strong work-life balance.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of land development and civil infrastructure projects.
- Prepare and oversee engineering designs related to site development, stormwater management, utility infrastructure, environmental permitting, and pump station systems.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and maintain strong working relationships.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project execution.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and technical deliverables.
- Perform quality control reviews of engineering plans and documentation.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and designers.
- Support project planning, proposal development, and client satisfaction efforts.
- Participate in site visits, meetings, and project coordination activities as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license, or ability to obtain Georgia reciprocity.
- 10+ years of civil engineering experience.
- Strong background in land development and site design projects.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Understanding of federal, state, and local civil engineering regulations.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to obtain a security clearance.
Preferred Experience
- Experience delivering projects for federal or government clients.
- Knowledge of regional stormwater management regulations.
- Experience with MicroStation and InRoads.
- Previous project leadership and client management responsibilities.
- Experience mentoring junior engineering staff.
