MEP Construction Manager - Data Center Construction (Travelling)

About the Role

We are seeking a Traveling MEP Construction Manager to support the delivery of large-scale data center projects across the United States. This individual will be responsible for overseeing all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and commissioning activities, ensuring mission-critical systems are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

This role is ideal for a construction professional with strong experience managing MEP scopes on hyperscale, colocation, or mission-critical projects who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is open to travel and project relocation as needed.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all MEP construction activities from preconstruction through commissioning and turnover.
  • Coordinate mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, controls, and commissioning teams throughout project execution.
  • Review drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, and shop drawings for constructability and coordination.
  • Monitor schedule performance and proactively identify potential delays.
  • Lead MEP coordination meetings with subcontractors, engineers, consultants, and client stakeholders.
  • Ensure all work complies with project specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
  • Support turnover, startup, testing, and commissioning activities.
  • Work closely with QA/QC and Commissioning teams to ensure successful project delivery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience managing MEP construction scopes.
  • Experience on data center, mission-critical, industrial, or large-scale commercial construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical infrastructure systems.
  • Experience coordinating multiple trade partners on large construction sites.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, schedules, and BIM models.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
