Position Overview

A leading power generation organization is seeking a Natural Gas Contract Development Manager to lead commercial contracting efforts and fuel procurement strategies supporting a diverse energy portfolio. This role will focus heavily on natural gas supply and transportation agreements while driving long-term fuel security, cost optimization, and strategic market positioning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute natural gas procurement and contracting strategies to support existing and future generation assets.
  • Lead negotiations for fuel supply, transportation, storage, and energy-related commercial agreements.
  • Manage relationships with fuel suppliers, pipelines, transportation providers, and other key market participants.
  • Monitor natural gas market trends and identify opportunities to improve fuel reliability and reduce costs.
  • Support energy portfolio management through financial, commercial, and market analysis.
  • Oversee transportation and logistics contracts, including pipeline capacity agreements and fuel delivery arrangements.
  • Evaluate commercial risks and provide recommendations to executive leadership.
  • Collaborate with operations, generation, energy trading, and development teams to align fuel strategies with business objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Energy Management, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in natural gas markets, fuel procurement, commodity contracting, energy trading, or power generation.
  • Strong understanding of natural gas supply chains, pipeline transportation, and energy market fundamentals.
  • Demonstrated success negotiating complex commercial agreements.
  • Strong analytical, financial modeling, and strategic planning capabilities.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with power generation fuel supply agreements.
  • Knowledge of wholesale power markets, renewable energy contracts, or transmission infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with fuel scheduling, transportation logistics, and portfolio optimization.
  • Experience supporting major capital projects or generation development initiatives.
