Superintedent - Commercial Construction - DFW
An established commercial general contractor with a strong presence throughout Texas is seeking a Superintendent to oversee ground-up and renovation projects across the Dallas-Fort Worth area. This individual will be responsible for managing all on-site construction activities, driving schedules, ensuring quality and safety standards are met, and leading subcontractor teams from project kickoff through project completion.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on field leader who can take ownership of a jobsite, build strong relationships with project stakeholders, and proactively solve challenges to keep projects moving forward.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily field operations and construction activities.
- Lead and enforce all site safety initiatives and compliance requirements.
- Manage subcontractors, vendors, and site logistics.
- Coordinate project schedules and ensure milestones are achieved.
- Monitor quality control and ensure work is completed according to plans and specifications.
- Review construction documents, drawings, and specifications.
- Work closely with Project Managers to maintain budgets, schedules, and client expectations.
- Conduct progress meetings and provide regular project updates.
- Coordinate inspections and ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations.
- Identify and resolve field issues in a timely manner.
- Manage punch list completion and project closeout activities.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction.
- Experience managing ground-up commercial projects.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, and site operations.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety requirements, and quality control procedures.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to manage subcontractors and maintain project schedules.
- Experience with commercial, retail, industrial, self-storage, or similar project types is preferred.
