A growing environmental consulting firm is seeking a Remediation Practice Leader to lead and expand its remediation services practice throughout the Midwest. This is a strategic leadership opportunity for an experienced environmental consultant who combines strong technical expertise with business development, client management, and team leadership capabilities.
The successful candidate will play a key role in driving practice growth, mentoring technical staff, developing client relationships, and overseeing a diverse portfolio of remediation and site investigation projects.
Responsibilities
Lead and grow the remediation practice, including strategic planning and business development initiatives
Manage key client relationships and serve as a trusted advisor on complex environmental challenges
Oversee environmental investigation, remediation, and regulatory compliance projects from proposal through closure
Direct projects involving soil, groundwater, vapor intrusion, petroleum impacts, PFAS, and other environmental concerns
Develop remediation strategies and ensure successful project execution
Manage project financials, including budgets, forecasting, utilization, and profitability
Mentor and develop project managers, engineers, geologists, and environmental scientists
Support proposal development, client presentations, and contract negotiations
Coordinate with regulators, attorneys, developers, municipalities, and industrial clients
Drive quality control and ensure technical excellence across project deliverables
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline
10+ years of environmental consulting and remediation experience
Strong background in site investigation, remediation, and regulatory closure programs
Proven experience managing large, complex environmental projects
Demonstrated success in client development and business growth
Experience leading teams and mentoring technical staff
Strong understanding of Illinois environmental regulations and remediation programs
Professional Engineer (PE), Professional Geologist (PG), or similar professional licensure preferred
Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills
