Position Summary
Seeking a Project Architect with 7+ years of experience in multifamily residential projects. This individual will lead the development of project vision, design, technical detailing, and documentation while ensuring the production of complete, accurate, and coordinated project deliverables. The Project Architect will collaborate closely with project leadership to manage complex projects and multiple assignments simultaneously. The role requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to design excellence, project performance, and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Coordination
- Lead and coordinate project teams throughout all phases of design and delivery.
- Manage and direct internal staff as well as external consultants.
- Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within scope, and within budget.
- Collaborate with project leadership to achieve project goals and client expectations.
Design & Technical Execution
- Develop and oversee architectural design, technical details, and construction documentation.
- Apply extensive knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Make informed design and documentation decisions aligned with project objectives.
- Lead teams in producing complete drawing and specification sets.
- Participate in quality assurance and quality control reviews.
- Oversee construction administration and provide contract document interpretation during construction.
Client & Business Development
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, fabricators, and suppliers.
- Support proposal preparation, project pursuits, and marketing efforts.
- Participate in project programming, scope development, and budgeting efforts.
Team Collaboration
- Partner with multidisciplinary teams to meet project objectives.
- Mentor and support architects and designers.
- Contribute to the overall success, quality, and growth of the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
- Licensed/Registered Architect.
- 7+ years of professional architectural experience.
- Experience leading multifamily residential projects.
- Strong understanding of building systems, specifications, construction methods, and market trends.
- Demonstrated ability to produce and coordinate complex project documentation from concept through construction administration.
- Proficiency with Revit and other industry-standard design and documentation software.
- Strong communication, leadership, coordination, organizational, and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to manage project teams, consultants, and client relationships.
Leadership Responsibilities
- May supervise architects and designers.
- Mentor, train, assign work, and provide performance feedback to team members.
- Support employee development and professional growth.
- Assist in resolving project and team-related challenges.
Additional Requirements
- Ability to participate in site visits and project meetings.
- Occasional travel to project sites and client meetings as required.
- Ability to work in a professional office environment and perform standard computer-based tasks.
