Base Salary: $150,000 - $225,000, depending on experience

Role Overview
An established, stable heavy civil contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to take ownership of complex infrastructure projects throughout Massachusetts and the surrounding region.
This individual will oversee projects from initial turnover through final closeout, with responsibility for safety, financial performance, scheduling, quality, documentation, and client relationships. The role is ideal for a proven civil construction professional who understands field operations and can effectively manage the commercial and administrative sides of a project.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage heavy civil projects from preconstruction and startup through completion and closeout
- Review project scope, contract documents, plans, specifications, and estimate assumptions
- Develop and maintain project schedules in partnership with field leadership
- Manage project budgets, commitments, forecasting, cost reporting, and overall profitability
- Monitor cost performance and proactively address significant budget variances
- Oversee submittals, change orders, payment applications, project logs, and contract documentation
- Coordinate subcontractor approvals, procurement, material planning, and startup requirements
- Work closely with Superintendents and Project Engineers to maintain productivity and achieve project milestones
- Lead project meetings and ensure action items are completed
- Coordinate progress billing and quantity reporting with owners, engineers, and subcontractors
- Maintain strong relationships with owners, engineers, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams
- Identify risks that could affect safety, schedule, cost, quality, or project performance
- Support final inspections, punch list completion, retainage reduction, and final payment
- Ensure project records and closeout documents are complete, accurate, and properly organized
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure incidents and near-misses are documented appropriately
What They're Looking For
- 8+ years of progressive experience in heavy civil construction
- Proven Project Manager experience overseeing complex infrastructure projects
- Strong knowledge of construction scheduling, cost control, budgeting, forecasting, and project coordination
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
- Experience working closely with Superintendents, Project Engineers, owners, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Strong understanding of contracts, change orders, progress billing, and project documentation
- Effective leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred
- OSHA 10 certification required
