Project Surveyor
We are partnering with a well-established engineering and surveying firm that has built a strong reputation throughout Arizona for delivering high-quality land development, transportation, municipal, and infrastructure projects. As the Tucson office continues to grow, the team is seeking an experienced Project Surveyor to help lead survey projects, support field and office staff, and serve as a technical resource for both clients and project teams.
This is an excellent opportunity for an Arizona-licensed surveyor looking to take ownership of projects, mentor junior staff, and work on a diverse portfolio of impactful projects across Southern Arizona.
Position Overview
The Project Surveyor will be responsible for managing multiple survey projects from proposal through completion. This individual will coordinate field and office staff, perform quality control reviews, communicate directly with clients, and ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within budget.
The ideal candidate is a licensed Arizona surveyor who enjoys both the technical and project management aspects of surveying and is looking for long-term growth within a collaborative and employee-focused environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage survey projects including boundary, ALTA/NSPS, topographic, subdivision, construction, and easement surveys.
- Oversee project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate field crews and office staff to ensure efficient project execution.
- Review survey calculations, plats, legal descriptions, maps, and deliverables.
- Conduct quality assurance and quality control reviews.
- Research deeds, title reports, easements, rights-of-way, and public records.
- Prepare project scopes, proposals, and cost estimates.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, engineers, and municipalities.
- Mentor and develop junior survey staff and field personnel.
- Ensure compliance with Arizona surveying regulations and company standards.
Qualifications
- Active Arizona Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS/RLS) license required.
- 5+ years of professional land surveying experience.
- Experience managing survey projects and coordinating multiple project teams.
- Strong knowledge of boundary analysis, ALTA surveys, subdivision plats, legal descriptions, and construction surveying.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and survey data processing software.
- Experience with Trimble, Leica, Carlson, or similar survey equipment and software.
- Strong communication, leadership, and client relationship skills.
- Ability to manage project budgets and schedules.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting land development, transportation, municipal, or infrastructure projects.
- FAA Part 107 certification.
- Prior experience supervising survey technicians, field crews, or junior surveyor
