What You'll Do
As a Senior Fire Protection Engineer, you will serve as a technical leader and trusted advisor throughout all phases of project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the Engineer of Record for projects in multiple jurisdictions.
- Lead fire protection design efforts from schematic design through construction administration.
- Develop and review construction documents, specifications, calculations, reports, and permit submissions.
- Coordinate closely with architects, owners, contractors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Oversee quality control and ensure all deliverables meet applicable codes, standards, and client expectations.
- Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and staffing requirements.
- Review RFIs, submittals, and design revisions throughout the construction process.
- Conduct technical research and stay current on evolving industry technologies, codes, and best practices.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and help foster long-term relationships.
- Mentor junior engineers and designers, helping develop the next generation of technical talent.
- Participate in project meetings, presentations, and stakeholder discussions as needed.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- 10-15+ years of fire protection engineering experience.
- Ability to obtain or maintain licensure in multiple states.
- Extensive knowledge of NFPA standards, building codes, and life safety requirements.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and engineering modeling software.
- Strong system design and equipment selection experience.
- Ability to prepare technical reports, studies, and design recommendations.
- Advanced understanding of project delivery and construction documentation.
Leadership Skills
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proven experience mentoring engineers and design staff.
- Strong project management, organization, and time management skills.
