About the Opportunity
A growing transportation engineering consulting firm is seeking a Roadway Engineer (EIT) to join its Atlanta-area roadway design team. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of transportation projects throughout Georgia, including highway widening, interchange improvements, bridge replacement programs, roundabouts, and corridor improvement projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for an early to mid-career engineer looking to gain hands-on design experience and contribute to impactful transportation projects from day one.
What You'll Be Doing
- Prepare roadway design plans for state and local transportation projects.
- Develop horizontal and vertical alignments using OpenRoads Designer.
- Assist with roadway geometry, drainage coordination, grading, and plan production.
- Support design-build projects involving highway widening and interchange improvements.
- Coordinate with project managers, design engineers, and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Participate in project meetings and client coordination efforts.
- Assist with quantity calculations, engineering reports, cost estimates, and technical documentation.
- Work on transportation projects for DOT, county, and municipal clients throughout Georgia.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain.
- 1-5+ years of roadway design experience.
- Experience with OpenRoads Designer, MicroStation, or related roadway design software.
- Understanding of roadway geometrics, grading, drainage, and transportation design principles.
- Experience with GDOT projects is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
