Senior Air Quality Consultant
About the Opportunity
A well-established environmental and engineering consulting firm is expanding its air quality practice in the Pacific Northwest and is looking for a Senior Air Quality Scientist to join its Seattle team. This is a chance to take on technically challenging permitting and compliance projects for a diverse client base across industrial, energy, manufacturing, and public sectors, with a clear path toward project leadership and mentorship of junior staff.
What You'll Do
- Lead and support air quality permitting projects, including Title V, PSD/NSR, and minor source permitting
- Prepare emissions inventories, dispersion modeling analyses (AERMOD), and permit applications
- Conduct regulatory applicability determinations under federal, state, and local air quality regulations
- Manage compliance reporting obligations, including NSPS, NESHAP/MACT, and GHG reporting
- Serve as a technical resource and mentor to junior scientists and engineers
- Interface directly with clients and regulatory agencies, and support proposal development and business growth
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in environmental science, atmospheric science, chemical/environmental engineering, or a related field
- 7+ years of air quality consulting or industry experience
- Strong working knowledge of federal and state air quality regulations
- Experience with dispersion modeling and emissions calculations
- Excellent technical writing and client communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently
