Senior BIM Lead
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced BIM Lead / VDC Lead to oversee BIM strategy, project coordination, and digital delivery efforts across a diverse portfolio of complex building projects. This individual will serve as a technical leader, partnering closely with structural engineers, architects, contractors, and other disciplines to drive efficient project execution through technology, collaboration, and process improvement.
The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise in BIM platforms with strong communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for improving project outcomes. This role is well-suited for someone who enjoys working on technically challenging projects while helping elevate BIM standards and workflows across an organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead BIM execution and coordination efforts across multiple projects simultaneously.
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve BIM standards, templates, workflows, and best practices.
- Serve as the primary BIM resource for project teams, providing technical guidance and troubleshooting support.
- Manage project models from schematic design through construction administration.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary models and facilitate clash detection workflows.
- Collaborate with structural engineers and design teams to improve model quality, constructability, and documentation efficiency.
- Support project pursuits, proposals, and digital delivery initiatives.
- Train, mentor, and develop engineers, designers, and BIM staff on software and workflow best practices.
- Evaluate and implement emerging technologies that improve project delivery and team productivity.
- Assist with quality assurance and quality control efforts related to BIM deliverables.
- Coordinate with external project partners, clients, and contractors regarding project standards and model requirements.
- Support reality capture, model integration, and digital asset management initiatives where applicable.
Desired Qualifications
- 8+ years of BIM, VDC, or digital design experience within the AEC industry.
- Advanced proficiency with Revit.
- Strong experience with Navisworks and model coordination.
- Experience supporting structural engineering or building design projects.
- Familiarity with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) and related collaboration platforms.
- Understanding of project delivery workflows from design through construction.
- Experience developing BIM standards, training programs, or company-wide workflows.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience mentoring junior staff and promoting BIM best practices.
