Salary: $105,000 - $135,000

A growing employee-owned consulting firm specializing in commissioning, qualification, and validation services is seeking a Senior Commissioning Engineer to support projects from design through occupancy. This role works closely with owners, design teams, contractors, operations staff, and other project stakeholders to ensure building systems perform as intended.

The Senior Commissioning Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Collaborating with clients to define project scope and commissioning requirements.
  • Reviewing system designs, drawings, specifications, and submittals.
  • Developing commissioning plans and functional performance test procedures.
  • Leading commissioning meetings and coordinating project stakeholders.
  • Verifying proper installation, operation, and performance of building systems.
  • Tracking deficiencies through resolution and documenting commissioning activities.

The Senior Commissioning Engineer should have the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in commissioning, facilities, building design, or construction with a focus on HVAC and controls systems.
  • Commissioning certification (BCxA, ASHRAE, or similar) or the ability to obtain certification within six months.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, controls, BAS/BMS platforms, and the building delivery process.
  • Excellent communication, project management, and client-facing skills.
  • Experience with energy audits, energy modeling, LEED, or sustainable design is a plus.
  • PE license and/or LEED accreditation preferred.
