Location: New York City Metro Area (Hybrid)
Salary: $85,000 - $130,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.

About the Opportunity
Join an employee-owned consulting firm focused on advancing building performance, sustainability, decarbonization, and energy efficiency. This senior-level role will support a growing team dedicated to helping building owners and operators reduce energy consumption, lower carbon emissions, and improve overall building performance across a diverse portfolio of projects.
The position offers the opportunity to work on energy audits, decarbonization studies, retrofit implementation, retro-commissioning, and commissioning projects for multifamily, commercial, institutional, mixed-use, and community facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Support commissioning, retro-commissioning, and decarbonization projects for existing and new buildings.
- Develop commissioning plans, testing procedures, technical reports, and presentations.
- Perform functional performance testing of HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, controls, and central plant systems.
- Conduct energy audits, energy assessments, and decarbonization feasibility studies.
- Identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency, building operations, and carbon reduction.
- Evaluate retrofit measures, electrification opportunities, and heat pump technologies.
- Review construction documents and provide recommendations to improve building performance and indoor environmental quality.
- Support junior team members through training and mentorship.
- Deliver technical training and guidance to building industry professionals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of experience working with HVAC systems in large commercial or multifamily buildings.
- Strong understanding of high-performance building technologies.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Experience
- Commissioning (Cx) and retro-commissioning (RCx).
- Building decarbonization planning and implementation.
- Advanced energy audits and building energy assessments.
- Field inspections and performance testing of MEP systems.
- Energy modeling, calculations, and feasibility analyses.
- Managing multiple projects and coordinating with clients and stakeholders.
- Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
Travel & Work Environment
- Frequent local site visits throughout the NYC Metro Area (approximately 40-50%).
- Occasional overnight travel may be required (less than 10%).
- Hybrid work environment with a combination of office, field, and remote work depending on project and team needs.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, and navigate active construction and building sites.
- Ability to perform field work in varying indoor and outdoor conditions.
