Senior Project Leader - BESS

As project volumes continue to grow, they are seeking an experienced Project Director or Senior Project Manager to provide strategic leadership across the development and delivery of major energy infrastructure programmes.
In this role, you will take ownership of large-scale projects from development through to completion, ensuring successful delivery across programme, budget, quality, risk and stakeholder objectives. Working closely with investors, grid operators, contractors, consultants and internal teams, you will play a key role in shaping project strategy while providing the leadership needed to execute complex projects in a fast-moving market.
Responsibilities:
* Lead project governance, delivery strategy and stakeholder management across major energy infrastructure projects
* Oversee project performance across cost, schedule, quality, risk and HSE metrics
* Coordinate multidisciplinary teams spanning engineering, construction, commissioning and grid connection activities
* Manage senior relationships with investors, lenders, partners, contractors and key external stakeholders
* Support commercial decision-making, contract strategy and risk mitigation throughout the project lifecycle
* Drive a strong culture of safety, accountability and delivery excellence
* Act as a key escalation point for project risks, challenges and strategic decisions
* Ensure successful project execution from development, permitting and design through to construction and energisation
Requirements:
* Significant experience delivering large-scale energy, utilities, infrastructure, transmission, distribution or power projects
* Strong understanding of project governance, commercial management, risk management and stakeholder engagement
* Experience managing complex projects involving multiple workstreams and external stakeholders
* Proven leadership experience managing multidisciplinary project teams
* Experience within BESS, grid infrastructure, substations, transmission networks, renewable energy or related sectors is highly desirable
* Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage at executive level
* Able to operate effectively at both strategic and operational levels
Fluent German is an absolute requirement for this position. Due to the nature of the projects, stakeholders and regulatory environment, candidates must be fully fluent in German. Applicants who do not possess professional fluency in German will not be considered and will not receive a response.
