Overview
A growing automation and controls engineering firm is looking to add an experienced Senior Project Manager to its team in the Plano area. The role will lead industrial automation projects across sectors such as oil & gas, chemicals, process manufacturing, power generation, and energy infrastructure. You'll oversee projects from concept and design through commissioning and start-up, while managing client relationships, project profitability, schedules, and delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead automation and control system projects from FEED through commissioning and start-up.
- Maintain ownership of project financials, including P&L, cash flow, forecasting, and change management.
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, resources, and delivery plans.
- Work closely with engineering, commissioning, and integration teams to ensure successful project execution.
- Manage customer expectations, minimise scope creep, and identify opportunities for additional project revenue.
- Support proposal reviews, RFQ responses, and commercial evaluations.
- Mentor junior project management and engineering staff.
- Build and maintain long-term client relationships.
- Promote a strong culture of safety, quality, and operational excellence.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- PMP certification preferred.
- 10+ years of project management experience delivering industrial automation or control system projects.
- Strong understanding of project financial management, including budgets, forecasting, and profitability.
- Experience with project scheduling tools such as MS Project; Primavera and SAP experience beneficial.
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary technical teams and interface directly with clients.
- Familiarity with industrial automation technologies and control platforms such as PLC, SCADA, DCS, HMI, and safety systems.
- Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
