Senior Mechanical Project Manager

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of large-scale commercial and industrial mechanical construction projects. This individual will oversee projects from preconstruction and planning through installation, commissioning, and closeout, ensuring work is delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to a high standard.

The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical construction background, with extensive experience managing HVAC, piping, plumbing, and/or process mechanical projects and coordinating with owners, general contractors, subcontractors, engineers, and field teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage mechanical construction projects from preconstruction through final closeout
• Take ownership of project budgets, schedules, forecasting, cost control, and profitability
• Review drawings, specifications, contracts, scopes of work, and project documentation
• Manage subcontractors, vendors, procurement, material releases, and equipment schedules
• Oversee RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation
• Work closely with Superintendents and field leadership to ensure successful project execution
• Coordinate mechanical installation with other trades, including electrical, controls, structural, and architectural teams
• Lead regular project meetings with clients, general contractors, engineers, and internal stakeholders
• Identify project risks early and develop strategies to maintain schedule and commercial performance
• Manage client relationships and help identify opportunities for repeat business
• Support and mentor Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and Project Engineers
• Ensure projects comply with company safety procedures, quality expectations, and contractual requirements

Experience & Qualifications

• 7+ years of mechanical construction project management experience
• Proven experience managing significant commercial, industrial, healthcare, mission-critical, data center, or institutional projects
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, piping, plumbing, mechanical systems, and construction processes
• Demonstrated experience managing project financials, including budgets, forecasting, change orders, and cost-to-complete
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and project schedules
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and communicate effectively with both field and executive-level contacts
• Experience leading and developing junior project management staff
• Degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline preferred but not essential where equivalent industry experience exists
