Compensation: $130,000 - $150,000 Base Salary + 15% Bonus
Travel: Approximately 10-20%
Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead the execution of complex engineered-to-order projects within the power distribution, electrical equipment, and industrial systems sector. This role serves as the primary point of accountability from project handoff through manufacturing, testing, delivery, and customer closeout.
The ideal candidate is a highly organized project leader who can manage high-visibility customer accounts, coordinate cross-functional teams, mitigate project risks, and ensure successful project execution while maintaining customer satisfaction, schedule performance, and profitability.
This position is primarily onsite in Plano, Texas and offers the opportunity to work directly with customers, engineering teams, manufacturing operations, and executive leadership on critical power and electrical infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
Project Execution
- Lead projects from order kickoff through shipment, delivery, and final closeout.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans covering engineering, procurement, manufacturing, testing, logistics, and customer milestones.
- Manage project scope, schedule, budget, risks, and customer expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure project deliverables are executed according to contractual requirements and customer commitments.
- Monitor project performance and proactively identify and resolve schedule, cost, and execution risks.
Customer Management
- Serve as the primary customer contact for project execution activities.
- Lead customer meetings, project reviews, and executive-level status updates.
- Coordinate submittals, customer approvals, action items, and project communications.
- Build strong customer relationships through proactive communication and issue resolution.
- Manage escalations professionally while maintaining customer confidence and satisfaction.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Partner closely with applications engineering, design engineering, procurement, manufacturing, quality, logistics, and field support teams.
- Align internal priorities and resources to meet project objectives.
- Facilitate communication and accountability across all project stakeholders.
- Drive timely decision-making to maintain project momentum and delivery performance.
Risk & Change Management
Identify and mitigate risks associated with:
- Long-lead materials
- Supplier performance
- Manufacturing capacity constraints
- Customer approvals
- Logistics and shipping challenges
- Scope gaps and execution risks
Identify out-of-scope requests and change-order opportunities.
Coordinate commercial impacts and resolution strategies with sales and leadership teams.
Escalate issues appropriately and develop mitigation plans to protect schedule, margin, and customer satisfaction.
Leadership & Mentorship
- Serve as a senior project leader for complex and high-profile customer programs.
- Mentor junior project managers and project coordinators.
- Promote project execution best practices and operational discipline.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across project management and delivery functions.
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business, Construction Management, or a related discipline preferred.
7+ years of project management experience in manufacturing, power systems, electrical equipment, industrial solutions, or related industries.
Experience leading complex, customer-facing projects with direct ownership of execution and outcomes.
Proven success managing engineered-to-order, custom manufacturing, or industrial equipment projects.
Working knowledge of:
