Senior Superintendent
Our client is a well-established General Contractor with a strong presence across New York City, delivering some of the region's most complex and high-profile construction projects. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Senior Superintendent to oversee large-scale projects throughout Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, The Bronx, and Staten Island.
This position offers the opportunity to lead construction teams on a diverse portfolio of projects including:
- Mid-rise residential developments
- High-rise residential towers
- Commercial office buildings
- Mixed-use developments
- Hospitality projects
- Healthcare facilities
- Institutional buildings
- Life sciences and laboratory facilities
- Retail developments
- Public sector and municipal projects
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all on-site construction operations from groundbreaking through project completion
- Develop and manage project schedules, logistics plans, and site operations
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, consultants, and project stakeholders
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget
- Conduct regular site meetings and maintain strong communication with project teams
- Drive quality control and ensure adherence to project specifications
- Manage site documentation, inspections, and compliance requirements
- Identify and resolve construction challenges proactively
- Mentor and develop Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents, and field staff
- Maintain exceptional standards of site safety and operational excellence
Requirements
- 10+ years of construction experience with a General Contractor
- Proven experience as a Lead Superintendent or Senior Superintendent on large-scale projects
- Strong background in mid-rise, high-rise, commercial, mixed-use, healthcare, life sciences, or institutional construction
- Experience managing projects valued at $50M+ preferred
- Extensive knowledge of NYC construction practices, building codes, and safety regulations
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with construction scheduling and project management software
