Structural Engineer

The Opportunity

You will work alongside structural engineers, architects and professionals across multiple engineering disciplines, supporting projects from early concept and structural-system selection through design, documentation and construction.

Depending on your level of experience, your responsibilities may include:

  • Analysing and designing steel, reinforced-concrete, masonry and foundation systems
  • Supporting complex commercial, institutional and specialist building projects
  • Developing efficient gravity and lateral structural systems
  • Preparing calculations, specifications and construction documents
  • Using Revit to coordinate structural models with architectural and engineering disciplines
  • Working with mechanical and electrical teams to resolve equipment loads, penetrations and coordination requirements
  • Supporting RFIs, submittal reviews, site observations and construction administration
  • Participating in project meetings with architects, contractors and clients
  • Taking ownership of structural packages as your experience develops
  • Mentoring junior engineers and supporting technical reviews at the more experienced level

Projects May Include

  • Large commercial and mixed-use buildings
  • Airport terminals, hangars and aviation support facilities
  • Healthcare and laboratory environments
  • Mission-critical and data-centre facilities
  • Federal and secure buildings
  • Higher-education and institutional projects
  • Manufacturing, industrial and specialist operational facilities

The project mix provides variety in scale, materials and technical challenges, rather than limiting you to a single building type.

What We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in Civil, Structural or Architectural Engineering
  • Approximately 3 to 10 years of structural engineering experience, although candidates outside this range may also be considered
  • Experience designing vertical building structures
  • Knowledge of structural steel and reinforced-concrete design
  • An understanding of gravity and lateral structural systems
  • Familiarity with relevant standards, including IBC, ASCE 7, AISC 360 and ACI 318
  • Experience with RAM Structural System, RISA-3D, ETABS, SAP2000 or similar structural-analysis software
  • Experience using Revit within a coordinated building-design environment
  • EIT certification, with a PE licence or active progression toward licensure
  • Strong communication skills and an interest in multidisciplinary project delivery

Experience delivering aviation, mission-critical, healthcare, commercial, federal, higher-education or technically complex industrial facilities would be valuable, but experience in one specific sector is not essential.

Why Consider It?

Join a 100% employee-owned business offering complex projects, long-term progression and a compensation model designed to reward performance and loyalty.

The opportunity includes:

  • Major commercial, aviation, healthcare, federal and mission-critical projects
  • Exposure to complex steel, concrete, masonry and foundation design
  • Multidisciplinary collaboration across engineering, architecture and construction
  • Support toward PE licensure and progression into technical or project leadership
  • A structured salary and defined bonus opportunity
  • ESOP participation at no personal cost
  • A nine-day working fortnight, comprehensive healthcare coverage and paid time off
  • Long-term career mobility across different sectors, disciplines and offices
