Traffic Engineer (Multiple Levels)

A global consulting firm is seeking Traffic Engineering professionals at a variety of experience levels, ranging from Traffic Engineers and Senior Traffic Engineers to Project Managers and Technical Leads, to support a diverse range of transportation projects throughout Massachusetts.
Responsibilities may include:
- Traffic engineering studies and analyses
- Traffic signal design and signal timing
- Intersection, corridor, and roadway improvement projects
- Traffic operations and safety evaluations
- Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) planning and design
- Signing, pavement marking, and traffic control design
- Preparation of plans, specifications, technical reports, and cost estimates
- Coordination with municipalities, DOT agencies, utility companies, and project stakeholders
- Field investigations and construction support
- Client interaction, project management, and business development (for more senior-level positions)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or related field
- Experience in traffic engineering, transportation design, traffic operations, ITS, or traffic signal projects
- Familiarity with industry software such as Synchro, Vistro, HCS, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and/or MicroStation
- Knowledge of MUTCD, AASHTO, ADA, and state or local transportation design standards
- Strong communication and project coordination skills
Preferred:
- PE license or ability to obtain
- PTOE certification a plus
- Experience working with public-sector transportation clients
- Interest in taking on increasing levels of responsibility and leadership
