AutoCAD Civil 3D | Edison, NJ
We are seeking a Civil 3D Survey Technician / Survey Designer to support our geomatics team by transforming field survey data into accurate, engineering-ready drawings and terrain models. This role serves as the link between survey crews and project engineers, utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D to process topographic, boundary, and construction staking data for a variety of projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and import survey field data into AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Develop and maintain surface models (DTMs/TINs), contours, and volume calculations.
- Prepare topographic, boundary, ALTA, ROW, and subdivision survey plans.
- Manage point databases, point groups, and drafting standards.
- Create stakeout files, coordinate sheets, and construction layout deliverables.
- Perform as-built comparisons and identify design discrepancies.
- Conduct quality control reviews of surveys, boundaries, easements, and legal descriptions.
Qualifications
- 2-5+ years of AutoCAD Civil 3D experience within land surveying.
- Experience processing GNSS, Total Station, and robotic survey data.
- Strong understanding of survey principles, boundary surveys, and coordinate systems.
- Ability to resolve discrepancies between field data, records, and design plans.
- High School Diploma required; Associate's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or Civil Engineering Technology preferred.
Preferred
- CST or LSIT certification.
- Experience with LiDAR, laser scanning, or drone/UAV survey data.
