Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced AV Field Supervisor to oversee the onsite installation and delivery of commercial audiovisual projects throughout the Atlanta market.
This individual will lead installation crews, coordinate daily field activity, and ensure projects are completed safely, accurately, and on schedule. The ideal candidate will have strong commercial AV installation experience, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to solve technical and logistical challenges onsite.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise AV technicians, installers, subcontractors, and onsite labor.
- Coordinate daily field activities with project managers, engineers, programmers, and other trades.
- Review project drawings, system schematics, rack elevations, cable schedules, and scopes of work.
- Ensure AV systems are installed according to approved designs and company standards.
- Monitor project schedules, labor hours, materials, and installation progress.
- Lead onsite meetings and provide regular project updates.
- Identify installation issues and coordinate solutions with the project team.
- Manage equipment deliveries, inventory, staging, and onsite storage.
- Maintain quality-control standards throughout the installation process.
- Support system testing, troubleshooting, commissioning, and final handover.
- Enforce workplace safety requirements and maintain an organized job site.
- Document project changes, delays, completed work, and outstanding items.
- Complete punch-list items and ensure projects are ready for client acceptance.
Required Experience
- Previous experience supervising commercial AV installations.
- Strong knowledge of audio, video, control, conferencing, networking, and AV-over-IP systems.
- Ability to read AV drawings, signal-flow diagrams, architectural plans, and construction documents.
- Experience leading technicians, subcontractors, and field crews.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills.
- Understanding of cable installation, rack fabrication, equipment mounting, system termination, and testing.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in an active construction environment.
- Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel throughout the Atlanta area.
Preferred Qualifications
- CTS, CTS-I, OSHA, or relevant manufacturer certifications.
- Experience with platforms such as Crestron, Extron, Q-SYS, Biamp, Shure, Microsoft Teams Rooms, and Zoom Rooms.
- Familiarity with corporate, education, government, healthcare, or hospitality AV projects.
- Experience coordinating with general contractors, electricians, IT teams, and other construction trades.
