Building Automation Sales Engineer

Our client is seeking a Building Automation Sales Engineer to help drive new business growth while serving as a trusted advisor to customers across commercial, healthcare, higher education, industrial, and mission-critical facilities.
This role combines technical expertise with relationship-building and offers the opportunity to work on innovative projects focused on energy efficiency, smart buildings, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with building owners, contractors, consulting engineers, and end users
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within assigned territories
- Conduct site visits to assess customer needs and develop tailored solutions
- Prepare estimates, proposals, and presentations for building automation projects
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to develop accurate project scopes and pricing
- Present technical solutions and demonstrate system capabilities to customers
- Support the sales process from initial opportunity through project award
- Stay informed on industry trends, technologies, and customer requirements
Requirements
- Experience in Building Automation, HVAC Controls, Mechanical Systems, Energy Services, or a related industry
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems and building operations
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience developing proposals, quotations, or solution-based sales presentations
- Strong relationship-building and business development skills
- Self-motivated with excellent communication and organizational abilities
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel within the territory
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience selling BAS/DDC solutions, HVAC equipment, energy services, or mechanical construction projects
- Familiarity with platforms such as Tridium Niagara, Johnson Controls, Siemens, Schneider Electric, Honeywell, Distech, Alerton, ALC, or similar
- Understanding of BACnet, Modbus, and other building automation protocols
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Business, or a related field
- Established relationships within the local construction or facilities market
