Building Automation Project Manager

Our client is seeking a Building Automation Project Manager to oversee the successful delivery of controls projects across commercial, healthcare, higher education, industrial, life sciences, and mission-critical facilities. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven professional who enjoys managing teams, coordinating stakeholders, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Responsibilities
- Manage building automation projects from contract award through project closeout
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans
- Coordinate engineering, programming, commissioning, and installation activities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, consultants, and internal teams
- Lead project meetings and provide regular progress updates to stakeholders
- Review project scope, specifications, drawings, and contract requirements
- Manage project financials, including forecasting, change orders, and cost control
- Ensure all projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with customer expectations
- Support commissioning, turnover, and project closeout activities
Requirements
- Experience managing Building Automation, HVAC Controls, Energy Management, or related construction projects
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, controls sequences, and building automation applications
- Ability to interpret mechanical, electrical, and controls drawings
- Experience managing project schedules, budgets, subcontractors, and customer relationships
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with project management and reporting tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with BAS platforms such as Tridium Niagara, Distech, Johnson Controls, Honeywell, Siemens, Schneider Electric, Alerton, ALC, or similar
- Knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, and building systems integration
- Experience delivering large commercial, healthcare, laboratory, pharmaceutical, higher education, or data center projects
- PMP certification or equivalent project management training
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
