A well-established and highly respected Building Automation contractor in Minnesota is looking for a Lead Building Automation Technician to join its growing team. The Role

As a Lead Building Automation Technician, you will play a critical role in the successful delivery of projects from start to finish. You'll be responsible for leading field activities, supporting project teams, mentoring junior technicians, and ensuring systems are operating at peak performance.
This is a hands-on position that requires strong technical expertise and a genuine passion for Building Automation systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Programming Building Automation Systems from scratch
  • Developing and modifying control sequences
  • Installing and integrating control hardware and field devices
  • Commissioning new systems and validating performance
  • Diagnosing and resolving complex controls issues
  • Troubleshooting software, hardware, networking, and communication problems
  • Performing point-to-point checkout and functional testing
  • Leading site activities and coordinating with project teams
  • Supporting project managers and engineers throughout the project lifecycle
  • Conducting system upgrades, retrofits, and expansions
  • Providing technical support and training to customers
  • Maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will be a well-rounded controls professional who is comfortable wearing multiple hats and taking ownership of projects.
Requirements include:
  • Proven Building Automation or Controls experience
  • Ability to program Building Automation systems from the ground up
  • Strong commissioning and startup experience
  • Experience troubleshooting complex BAS/DDC systems
  • Hands-on installation knowledge
  • Excellent understanding of HVAC systems and mechanical equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret control drawings and sequences of operation
  • Strong customer-facing and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while also leading site teams
Experience with multiple Building Automation platforms is highly desirable, including:
