CEI Practice Leader / Business Development Lead

A growing engineering and infrastructure consulting firm is seeking an experienced CEI leader to help establish and expand its Construction Engineering & Inspection practice in Texas. This is a rare opportunity for a proven seller-doer to take ownership of business development efforts, win work across TxDOT, municipal, and county agencies, and play a key role in building a high-growth practice.

What You'll Do
- Lead business development efforts for CEI projects across Texas
- Develop and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders at TxDOT, municipalities, counties, and transportation agencies
- Identify, pursue, and help win CEI contracts and transportation programs
- Collaborate with technical teams to develop winning pursuits and proposals
- Help build and grow a CEI practice, including strategic planning, staffing, and market expansion
- Serve as a senior representative of the firm within the Texas transportation market
- Support project management and delivery efforts as needed
What We're Looking For
- 15+ years of transportation and infrastructure experience (20+ years preferred)
- Strong background in CEI and transportation project delivery
- Demonstrated track record of pursuing and winning work with TxDOT, city, and county clients
- Established relationships with key decision-makers and industry stakeholders throughout Texas
- Experience managing transportation projects and client accounts
- Strong understanding of the Texas transportation market and upcoming opportunities
- Ability to mentor teams and help grow a business unit
Preferred Experience
- TxDOT CEI certifications
- Roadway, highway, widening, paving, and transportation construction projects
- Experience with both public-sector and alternative delivery programs
- Existing network within the Houston transportation market

Compensation
