About the Opportunity

Our client is seeking an experienced Construction Engineering & Inspection (CEI) Leader to oversee and expand their CEI operations throughout the Houston and Southeast Texas region. This individual will play a critical role in driving strategic growth, managing key transportation infrastructure projects, fostering client relationships, and leading a high-performing team of CEI professionals.

This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned CEI professional who combines technical expertise with strong leadership capabilities and a passion for business development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow CEI operations within the Houston and Southeast Texas market.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with TxDOT, local municipalities, counties, toll authorities, and transportation clients.
  • Manage the delivery of CEI projects, ensuring compliance with client requirements, budgets, schedules, and quality standards.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and oversight to Resident Engineers, Project Managers, Construction Managers, and inspection staff.
  • Support business development efforts, including proposal preparation, interviews, strategic planning, and client outreach.
  • Collaborate with transportation design and project management teams to support project pursuits and successful project delivery.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain CEI personnel to support continued growth.
  • Monitor project performance metrics, resource allocation, and financial objectives.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients throughout project lifecycles.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Texas, or ability to obtain through reciprocity.
  • 10+ years of experience in transportation construction, CEI, or infrastructure project management.
  • Demonstrated experience leading TxDOT transportation projects.
  • Proven ability to manage teams, clients, and project delivery efforts.
  • Strong understanding of TxDOT specifications, procedures, and construction practices.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
