Role Overview
A growing civil construction contractor is seeking an experienced Foreman / Superintendent to lead field operations on road construction and infrastructure projects. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who understands how to run work in the field, keep crews productive, and maintain safety, quality, and schedule expectations.
The right candidate will have experience managing roadwork, sitework, utility coordination, grading, paving support, drainage, and related civil scopes. This role is ideal for a field leader who takes ownership of the jobsite, communicates clearly with crews and project teams, and knows how to keep work moving efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily field operations on road construction and civil infrastructure projects
- Supervise crews, subcontractors, equipment, and materials on active jobsites
- Coordinate daily work plans, production goals, and field priorities
- Read and interpret plans, grades, specifications, and project documents
- Oversee roadwork, drainage, grading, utility coordination, site preparation, and related civil scopes
- Maintain a safe, organized, and productive jobsite
- Track daily progress, manpower, equipment usage, deliveries, and site conditions
- Communicate with Project Managers, inspectors, subcontractors, and owners' representatives
- Identify field issues early and help resolve problems before they impact schedule or cost
- Ensure work is completed to quality standards and project requirements
- Support punch list, closeout, and final project completion activities
What They're Looking For
- Experience as a Foreman, Superintendent, or lead field supervisor in road construction, civil construction, sitework, utilities, or infrastructure
- Strong understanding of field sequencing, grading, drainage, earthwork, paving coordination, and utility work
- Ability to lead crews and maintain productivity in a fast-paced field environment
- Comfortable reading plans, checking work against specifications, and coordinating with inspectors
- Strong safety mindset and ability to enforce safe work practices
- Ability to communicate clearly with field teams, management, subcontractors, and project stakeholders
- Organized, dependable, and able to stay ahead of daily jobsite needs
- Valid driver's license required
