Remote Delta Controls Engineer (Data Centers)

Location: Remote (United States)
Travel: 15-30% as required

Overview

We are seeking a skilled Delta Controls Engineer to join a growing team delivering Building Automation System (BAS) solutions for mission-critical data center facilities across the United States. This role will focus on the design, programming, commissioning, and optimization of Delta Controls systems within hyperscale, colocation, and enterprise data center environments.

This is an excellent opportunity for a controls professional who enjoys working on complex projects, collaborating remotely with project teams, and supporting some of the most technically advanced buildings in the industry.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop BAS solutions using Delta Controls hardware and software platforms.
  • Engineer control sequences for mission-critical HVAC and mechanical systems.
  • Program and configure Delta Controls controllers, databases, graphics, alarms, and trending.
  • Integrate BAS with third-party systems including power monitoring, generators, UPS, CRAC/CRAH units, chillers, cooling towers, and lighting controls.
  • Support commissioning activities, point-to-point verification, and functional performance testing.
  • Troubleshoot network, communication, and controls-related issues remotely and onsite.
  • Review project specifications, submittals, and sequence of operations documentation.
  • Collaborate with project managers, commissioning teams, data center operators, and mechanical contractors.
  • Assist with system upgrades, retrofits, and optimization projects.
  • Provide technical support and training to end users and operations teams.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of Building Automation Systems experience.
  • Hands-on experience with Delta Controls ORCAview, enteliWEB, enteliVISION, and BACnet systems.
  • Experience programming DDC systems and implementing HVAC control strategies.
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Chilled water systems
    • Air-side HVAC systems
    • CRAC/CRAH units
    • Cooling towers
    • Variable frequency drives (VFDs)
    • Central utility plants
  • Knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, and IP-based controls networks.
  • Ability to read and interpret control drawings, wiring diagrams, and sequences of operation.
  • Strong troubleshooting and commissioning experience.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel when required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Data center experience supporting hyperscale, colocation, enterprise, or mission-critical facilities.
  • Experience with electrical monitoring and integration of power systems.
  • Exposure to commissioning processes for Tier III or Tier IV facilities.
  • Tridium Niagara, Distech, Schneider Electric, Siemens, or Johnson Controls experience.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Controls, Mechanical Systems, or related field.
