About the Opportunity

A well-established multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is seeking a Division Manager - Site Design to lead a growing team of engineers and designers delivering land development, site design, and infrastructure projects throughout the region.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineering leader who enjoys a balance of people leadership, project management, business development, and client relationship management. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping team performance, supporting strategic growth initiatives, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality projects.

The role is well suited to a Project Manager, Senior Project Manager, or Team Leader looking to step into a broader operational and leadership position.

Position Overview

The Group Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of a site design team while maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring successful project delivery.

Project experience may include:

• Land development projects
• Institutional developments
• Commercial site design
• Residential developments
• Infrastructure improvements
• Utility and stormwater projects
• Municipal and public-sector developments

This position combines technical oversight, staff development, operational leadership, and business development responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers, designers, and project managers.
• Foster a highly collaborative and performance-driven team culture.
• Support employee development, career growth, and succession planning.
• Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and team resource planning.
• Promote technical excellence and quality across all project deliverables.

Project Management & Delivery

• Oversee project delivery across multiple client accounts and project teams.
• Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to a high standard.
• Support project managers in resolving technical, staffing, and schedule challenges.
• Monitor workloads and resource allocation across the team.
• Drive project quality, consistency, and client satisfaction.

Client & Business Development

• Build and maintain long-term client relationships.
• Support proposal preparation, project pursuits, and contract negotiations.
• Identify opportunities for repeat business and strategic growth.
• Represent the organisation at client meetings, public presentations, and industry events.
• Contribute to business development initiatives and market expansion efforts.

Financial & Operational Management

• Oversee project budgets, forecasting, and financial performance.
• Monitor utilisation, staffing levels, and operational efficiency.
• Support leadership in meeting growth and profitability objectives.
• Assist with strategic planning and operational initiatives.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Landscape Architecture, or related discipline.
• Professional Engineer (PE) licence and/or Landscape Architect licence.
• 7+ years of experience in land development, site design, or related engineering disciplines.
• Proven project management and team leadership experience.
• Strong understanding of land development approval and permitting processes.
• Experience managing client relationships and project financial performance.
• Valid driver's licence.

Preferred

• Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams.
• Strong business development and proposal preparation experience.
• Public presentation and client engagement experience.
• Experience managing multiple concurrent projects and staff resources.

Technical Expertise

Candidates should have experience with:

• Site layout and site design
• Grading and earthwork design
• Stormwater management
• Utility infrastructure design
• Erosion and sediment control
• Permitting and regulatory approvals
• Engineering report preparation
• AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar design software
