The Opportunity
As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will lead the planning, design, and delivery of civil infrastructure and land development projects serving federal, municipal, and institutional clients.
You'll work alongside multidisciplinary engineering and architectural teams while acting as a trusted advisor to clients, overseeing project execution from concept through construction.
This role offers a balance of technical engineering, project leadership, client engagement, and staff development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of site development and civil infrastructure projects
- Oversee grading, drainage, stormwater management, utility, and permitting efforts
- Coordinate with internal engineering and architectural disciplines throughout project delivery
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and project stakeholders
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements
- Mentor and develop junior engineers and design staff
- Support business development initiatives and strengthen long-term client relationships
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) licence in Virginia or ability to obtain reciprocity
- 10+ years of civil engineering experience
- Strong background in land development and site design
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Experience working with federal, municipal, or public-sector projects
- Strong project management and client-facing experience
- Ability to lead multiple projects while supporting team development
