The Opportunity

An industry-leading engineering, consulting, and construction firm is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support nuclear power generation projects nationwide. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the design, modification, and modernization of operating nuclear facilities while working alongside experienced multidisciplinary engineering teams.

The role involves electrical design, power system analysis, plant modifications, client interaction, and support throughout engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop design change packages for operating nuclear facilities.
  • Prepare electrical engineering deliverables, including:
    • One-line and three-line diagrams
    • Motor control schematics
    • Breaker control schematics
    • Wiring diagrams
    • Cable schedules and cable sizing calculations
    • Equipment layouts and interconnection drawings
  • Perform engineering analyses, including:
    • Load flow studies
    • Short circuit studies
    • Motor starting studies
    • Arc flash analyses
    • Protective relay settings and coordination
    • Battery and charger sizing calculations
  • Develop electrical equipment specifications and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Support procurement, construction, commissioning, and startup activities.
  • Conduct site visits and interface with clients.
  • Assist with project schedule development and engineering estimates.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Provide technical support for proposals and project execution.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
  • 11+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience.
  • Experience supporting power generation, utility, industrial, manufacturing, or nuclear facilities.
  • Strong understanding of electrical power distribution systems.
  • Experience preparing engineering calculations and technical documentation.
  • Ability to satisfy applicable nuclear industry citizenship requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) License.
  • Commercial nuclear power plant design experience.
  • Experience supporting nuclear plant modifications and design change packages.
  • Utility or EPC power generation experience.
  • Experience serving as a technical lead or project lead.
