Land Surveyor | Kansas City
A well-established engineering and surveying firm is seeking an experienced Land Surveyor to support the Survey Manager and play a key role in the delivery of a variety of surveying projects. This position offers the opportunity to lead projects, mentor staff, manage client relationships, and contribute to the growth of a successful survey practice.
Responsibilities
- Manage multiple surveying projects from planning through completion
- Provide technical expertise on complex surveying assignments
- Review project deliverables for quality, accuracy, and compliance
- Coordinate project scopes, schedules, budgets, and staffing needs
- Supervise and mentor survey staff and field crews
- Serve as a technical resource for internal teams and clients
- Prepare proposals, project budgets, and schedules
- Lead client meetings and maintain strong client relationships
- Coordinate with contractors, public agencies, and project stakeholders
- Stay current with industry developments, technology, and best practices
- Assist with departmental planning and operational improvements
Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional surveying experience
- Strong understanding of surveying principles, practices, and project delivery
- Experience managing project budgets, schedules, and client relationships
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or a related field preferred
- CPR and First Aid certifications are a plus
- Involvement in professional organizations is preferred
