A growing environmental consulting firm is seeking a Mid-Level Environmental Scientist to support environmental investigation, remediation, and project delivery efforts in the greater Chicago area. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced project managers and technical staff while gaining exposure to a wide variety of environmental projects.
Responsibilities
- Conduct environmental site assessments and field sampling activities, including soil and groundwater investigations.
- Support remediation projects and environmental compliance efforts under the guidance of senior staff.
- Prepare technical reports, project deliverables, and proposals with a high degree of accuracy.
- Assist with project coordination, scheduling, and tracking project budgets and timelines.
- Communicate project updates with clients and maintain strong professional relationships.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, laboratories, and vendors to support project execution.
- Apply knowledge of environmental regulations, remediation programs, and site investigation practices.
- Participate in networking and professional development opportunities to expand technical expertise.
- Travel locally to project sites as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
- 2-3 years of experience in environmental consulting, site investigation, remediation, or related environmental fieldwork.
- Experience with environmental sampling, data collection, and technical reporting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification preferred.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
