Lead Senior Electrical Engineer - Industrial Infrastructure
Location: Phoenix, AZ (Hybrid Schedule)
Salary Range: $120,000 - $165,000+
Role Overview
We are seeking a Lead Senior Electrical Engineer to support complex electrical infrastructure projects throughout the Southwest and across multiple critical infrastructure sectors. This role combines power system studies, electrical design, technical leadership, and project execution responsibilities while working on projects that support water, wastewater, industrial, transportation, utility, and federal facilities.
The ideal candidate is a licensed Professional Engineer with experience performing electrical system analyses, leading engineering efforts, and serving as a trusted technical advisor to both clients and project teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and review electrical engineering studies and power system analyses for infrastructure and industrial projects.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for electrical design, power system modeling, troubleshooting, and technical problem resolution.
- Manage multiple assignments simultaneously as a project lead, discipline lead, or project manager.
- Provide technical oversight and quality reviews of engineering designs, calculations, and reports.
- Perform and review studies including short circuit, arc flash, load flow, equipment evaluation, and protective device coordination.
- Support planning, design, and modernization of medium- and low-voltage electrical distribution systems.
- Collaborate with clients, project managers, and multidisciplinary teams to develop practical engineering solutions.
- Support proposal development, project pursuits, and business development efforts.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the growth of the electrical engineering team.
- Prepare technical reports, engineering studies, presentations, and project documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or a related discipline.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required.
- 4+ years of experience in electrical engineering, power systems analysis, or electrical infrastructure design.
- Experience serving as a technical lead, project engineer, or project manager.
- Strong understanding of power distribution systems and electrical engineering principles.
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
- Ability to lead projects and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Preferred Experience
- Experience supporting water/wastewater, industrial, utility, transportation, or federal projects.
- Experience with medium-voltage power distribution systems, substations, switchgear, transformers, and standby generation systems.
- Proficiency with SKM PowerTools, ETAP, EasyPower, CYME, EDSA, or similar power system analysis software.
- Strong familiarity with applicable codes and standards including NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and NESC.
- Experience with renewable energy systems, battery energy storage, microgrids, or distributed generation projects.
- Background in power system planning, infrastructure assessments, and system expansion studies.
- Experience preparing technical reports, standards, engineering studies, and client presentations.

- Hybrid work arrangement based in Phoenix, Arizona.
- Collaboration with engineering teams, project managers, and clients across multiple markets.
- Limited travel, typically 10% or less, depending on project requirements.

Compensation & Benefits
Salary Range: $120,000 - $165,000+, depending on experience, technical expertise, licensure, and project leadership responsibilities.
