About the Opportunity
A highly respected environmental consulting firm is seeking a seasoned environmental professional to join its Dallas office in a leadership capacity. This role offers the opportunity to work on some of the most technically challenging environmental projects in the country, partnering with experts across disciplines to develop practical, science-based solutions to complex environmental issues.
The successful candidate will serve as a senior technical leader, trusted client advisor, and mentor while helping expand the firm's presence across Texas and the broader region. This position is well suited for an experienced consultant who enjoys tackling difficult environmental problems, leading multidisciplinary teams, and building long-term client relationships.
Unlike many consulting environments that focus primarily on project volume, this role emphasizes technical excellence, critical thinking, and collaboration in support of complex site investigations, remediation programs, environmental risk evaluations, and strategic environmental decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead complex environmental consulting engagements involving site characterization, groundwater and soil impacts, remediation strategy development, risk evaluation, and regulatory negotiations.
- Serve as a senior technical resource for multidisciplinary teams of engineers, geologists, hydrogeologists, environmental scientists, and risk professionals.
- Provide technical direction on projects involving contaminant fate and transport, emerging contaminants, environmental forensics, corrective action programs, and redevelopment challenges.
- Develop defensible technical approaches that help clients navigate environmental liabilities, regulatory requirements, and business objectives.
- Build and maintain relationships with industrial, energy, manufacturing, legal, commercial, and public-sector clients.
- Participate in business development efforts, including proposal preparation, client strategy discussions, and identification of new opportunities.
- Review and oversee technical reports, investigation work plans, conceptual site models, risk evaluations, and remediation recommendations.
- Mentor and support the development of junior and mid-level consultants across technical disciplines.
- Collaborate with senior practitioners throughout the organization to solve complex environmental challenges and deliver high-quality client solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, Geological Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 12+ years of environmental consulting experience, with increasing levels of technical and project leadership responsibility.
- Professional Engineer (PE), Professional Geologist (PG), or equivalent credential preferred.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex environmental investigation and remediation projects.
- Strong understanding of federal and state environmental regulatory frameworks and risk-based decision-making processes.
- Experience serving as a technical advisor and primary point of contact for clients.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, support business development, and lead technical teams.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
