Job Description
We are seeking a Municipal Planner to join a growing planning team supporting cities, counties, tribes, developers, and other stakeholders across Northern California. This is an opportunity to work on a diverse mix of current and advanced planning projects while collaborating with experienced planners, engineers, surveyors, and environmental professionals.
Responsibilities
- Manage current and long-range planning projects from initiation through approval
- Coordinate with local agencies, clients, and project stakeholders
- Prepare planning documents, permit applications, and entitlement packages
- Conduct research using planning resources, agency databases, and GIS platforms
- Support CEQA/NEPA compliance and permitting efforts
- Track project schedules, budgets, and deliverables
- Present findings and recommendations to public agencies and community groups
- Mentor and support junior planning staff
Qualifications
- 4+ years of municipal planning experience
- Strong understanding of land use planning, zoning, and entitlement processes
- Experience with CEQA/NEPA and environmental permitting
- Strong project management and client relationship skills
- Proficiency using GIS and online research tools
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with grant writing and administration is a plus
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
Compensation
- Base Salary: $62,400 - $79,000 (Mid-Level Planner) or $83,000 - $125,000 (Senior Planner)
