Sales Manager - Building Automation Systems (BAS)

Location: Southeast US (Hybrid/Remote with Regional Travel)
Industry: Building Automation / Smart Buildings / HVAC Controls

Overview

A leading provider of building automation and smart building solutions is seeking a Sales Manager to drive growth across the Southeast region.

This individual will be responsible for developing strategic customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and growing project, service, and solutions revenue across commercial, healthcare, education, industrial, and mission-critical facilities.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in BAS, HVAC controls, energy management, or smart building technologies, combined with a proven ability to develop business and win new accounts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a regional sales strategy to drive revenue growth.
  • Identify, pursue, and secure new project and service opportunities.
  • Build strong relationships with owners, contractors, consulting engineers, facility managers, and end users.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through contract award.
  • Collaborate with operations, engineering, and project teams to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Maintain and grow existing client relationships while expanding market share.
  • Develop accurate sales forecasts and maintain a healthy pipeline of opportunities.
  • Represent the company at industry events, customer meetings, and networking functions.
  • Monitor market trends and competitive activity within the building automation sector.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of sales experience within Building Automation, HVAC Controls, Building Technologies, Energy Services, or a related industry.
  • Demonstrated success selling BAS projects, service agreements, retrofits, or energy solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of building automation systems and smart building technologies.
  • Ability to build long-term relationships with decision-makers and stakeholders.
  • Strong presentation, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience leading or mentoring sales teams.
  • Existing relationships within the Southeast commercial building market.
  • Experience working with major BAS platforms and solutions.
  • Knowledge of energy efficiency, analytics, and smart building initiatives.
