Overview
A leading building automation and controls integrator is seeking a Technical Lead to support and drive the delivery of BAS projects across the Southeast region. This is a high-impact role for an experienced controls professional who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, mentoring engineers and technicians, and serving as the go-to technical expert within the business.
The successful candidate will provide leadership across system design, programming, commissioning, troubleshooting, and deployment of building automation solutions for commercial, institutional, healthcare, industrial, and mission-critical facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the senior technical authority for BAS projects across the Southeast region.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers, programmers, and field technicians.
- Lead the design, programming, integration, and commissioning of building automation systems.
- Support project teams with troubleshooting and resolution of complex controls issues.
- Review control sequences, system architectures, graphics, and programming standards.
- Assist with project planning, resource allocation, and technical execution.
- Collaborate with operations, project management, and sales teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Support customer meetings and provide technical consultation when required.
- Develop and maintain best practices, standards, and documentation.
- Travel throughout the Southeast region to support project teams and clients.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of Building Automation Systems (BAS/BMS) experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting DDC controls.
- Experience leading technical teams or acting as a senior-level controls resource.
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, sequences of operation, and controls integration.
- Experience with one or more major BAS platforms such as:
- Niagara N4
- Distech Controls
- Tridium
- Schneider Electric
- Siemens
- Automated Logic
- Johnson Controls
- Delta Controls
- Ability to diagnose and resolve complex field issues.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Niagara N4 certification.
- Experience with enterprise-level integrations and smart building technologies.
- Exposure to data centers, healthcare, higher education, or large commercial facilities.
- Previous experience supporting multi-site project teams.
