BAS SCADA Engineer (Ignition) | Fully Remote
About the Opportunity
We're working with a rapidly growing controls integration and software engineering team delivering advanced building automation and SCADA solutions across large-scale mission critical facilities.
Due to continued project growth, they are looking to add an experienced BAS SCADA Engineer with strong Ignition development experience to support data center projects across North America.
This is a fully remote position offering the opportunity to work on some of the most technically advanced facilities in the industry while collaborating with a highly skilled team of automation professionals.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy Ignition SCADA applications for mission critical and data center environments
- Create intuitive HMI dashboards, graphics, alarming, and reporting solutions
- Integrate BAS, PLC, power monitoring, and critical infrastructure systems into centralized SCADA platforms
- Configure SQL databases and historian functionality
- Develop scripts and custom functionality within the Ignition platform
- Support system testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and optimization
- Collaborate with controls engineers, software developers, project managers, and end users
- Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to SCADA standards and best practices
- Provide technical support throughout project execution and post-deployment activities
Requirements
- Experience developing SCADA solutions using Inductive Automation Ignition
- Strong understanding of Building Automation Systems (BAS/BMS)
- Experience integrating multiple control systems, protocols, and field devices
- Familiarity with protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, OPC UA, MQTT, and SNMP
- Experience with SQL databases and industrial networking
- Understanding of critical infrastructure, mission critical, or data center environments preferred
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently within a fully remote environment
Preferred Experience
- Data center, mission critical, or large commercial facility experience
- Ignition Gold Certification or relevant training
- PLC integration experience
- Scripting knowledge using Python within Ignition
- Experience with enterprise-level monitoring and analytics platforms
