Key Responsibilities

  • Lead geotechnical engineering projects from proposal development through final delivery

  • Perform and oversee geotechnical design and analysis for bridges, dams, levees, buildings, and other civil infrastructure projects

  • Plan and manage subsurface exploration programs, drilling operations, and field investigations

  • Prepare and review geotechnical reports, technical specifications, engineering calculations, and recommendations

  • Evaluate foundation systems, retaining structures, slope stability, earthworks, and ground improvement solutions

  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams throughout project execution

  • Provide construction-phase engineering support and respond to field conditions as required

  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and technical deliverables

  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to project teams

  • Support business development activities, proposal preparation, and client relationship management

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a related discipline

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required

  • 10+ years of geotechnical engineering experience

  • Strong experience delivering transportation, bridge, dam, levee, or major infrastructure projects

  • Proficiency in geotechnical investigations, foundation design, and geotechnical analysis

  • Demonstrated project management and client-facing experience

  • Strong leadership, communication, and team collaboration skills

  • Ability to travel periodically throughout the Midwest as project requirements dictate
