Key Responsibilities

  • Lead geotechnical projects from proposal preparation through design and construction support

  • Perform and oversee geotechnical analyses for deep and shallow foundations, retaining structures, earthworks, and slope stability

  • Plan and manage subsurface exploration programs, field investigations, drilling operations, and laboratory testing efforts

  • Prepare and review geotechnical reports, technical recommendations, specifications, and engineering calculations

  • Evaluate geotechnical risks and develop practical solutions for challenging site conditions

  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, regulatory agencies, and multidisciplinary project teams

  • Provide technical oversight and quality review of engineering deliverables

  • Manage project budgets, schedules, staffing, and client expectations

  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the ongoing development of technical staff

  • Support business development initiatives and strengthen existing client relationships

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a related discipline

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required

  • 10+ years of geotechnical engineering experience

  • Strong background in transportation, bridge, water resources, or heavy civil infrastructure projects

  • Experience managing geotechnical investigations and preparing technical reports

  • Knowledge of foundation engineering, soil mechanics, earth retention systems, and geotechnical design

  • Proven project management and client-facing experience

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to travel periodically throughout Indiana and the Midwest as required
