The Role

As a Mechanical Estimator, you will play a key role in the preconstruction process, developing accurate and competitive estimates for a wide range of mechanical construction projects.

Working closely with project management, operations, and leadership teams, you will help secure and shape projects across healthcare, manufacturing, commercial, piping, plumbing, and HVAC applications.

Responsibilities

• Prepare conceptual, budgetary, and detailed mechanical estimates.
• Review plans, specifications, and project documentation.
• Perform quantity take-offs for HVAC, piping, plumbing, and related systems.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor pricing.
• Develop pricing strategies and bid proposals.
• Analyse project risks and opportunities during preconstruction.
• Participate in value engineering and design-assist discussions.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and industry partners.
• Support handover activities from estimating to project execution teams.
• Maintain and update historical cost databases and estimating systems.

What We're Looking For

Required Experience

• Experience estimating commercial mechanical construction projects.
• Strong understanding of HVAC, piping, plumbing, and ductwork systems.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Experience preparing competitive estimates across multiple project sizes.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation

• Mid-Level Estimator: $80,000 - $100,000
• Senior Estimator: $110,000 - $130,000+
• Discretionary annual bonus programme
• Typical bonus range of $10,000 - $30,000
