Senior Project Manager - Geologist / Environmental Scientist

Location: Indianapolis, IN
Compensation: $100,000-$120,000

A growing environmental consulting firm is seeking a Senior Project Manager - Geologist/Environmental Scientist to help lead complex environmental projects throughout Indiana. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced consultant who enjoys balancing client management, technical leadership, project execution, and team development.

Responsibilities

  • Lead environmental investigation, remediation, and redevelopment projects from proposal through closure
  • Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, profitability, and client relationships
  • Oversee soil, groundwater, and soil vapor investigations
  • Develop and review remediation strategies, corrective action plans, and regulatory submittals
  • Provide technical leadership on petroleum, UST, and brownfield projects
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, regulators, and project stakeholders
  • Mentor project managers, geologists, scientists, and technical staff
  • Review technical reports and ensure quality control standards are met
  • Support business development efforts and identify opportunities with existing clients
  • Assist with strategic planning and growth initiatives within the environmental practice

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, or a related field
  • 10+ years of environmental consulting experience
  • Strong project management experience overseeing environmental investigation and remediation projects
  • Extensive experience with petroleum sites, UST programs, and brownfield redevelopment projects
  • Proven ability to manage project financials, schedules, and client relationships
  • Strong technical writing and report review capabilities
  • Indiana LPG, CHMM, or similar professional credential preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership and mentoring experience
  • Strong communication and business development skills
