A specialist engineering consultancy is seeking a Building Envelope / Structural Engineer and Project Manager to support the investigation, design, repair, and restoration of existing buildings throughout New England.
This is a hands-on position combining field investigations, engineering design, construction administration, client management, and project delivery. Projects involve both modern and historic properties across the commercial, industrial, institutional, educational, healthcare, life-sciences, condominium, and residential sectors.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform building-envelope and structural condition assessments
- Conduct field investigations on new, existing, and historic buildings
- Investigate water intrusion, material deterioration, construction defects, and structural concerns
- Complete engineering calculations and technical research
- Develop repair and rehabilitation designs
- Prepare drawings, details, technical specifications, and bid documents
- Assist clients throughout the bidding and contractor-selection process
- Attend pre-bid, pre-construction, and project coordination meetings
- Provide construction administration and contractor oversight
- Conduct site observations and review ongoing construction work
- Prepare assessment reports, recommendations, and project documentation
- Manage project schedules, budgets, deliverables, clients, and subconsultants
- Coordinate with contractors, manufacturers, architects, engineers, and property representatives
- Apply knowledge of building codes, construction practices, materials, and manufacturer systems
- Maintain strong client relationships and deliver a high standard of customer service
- Support proposals, marketing initiatives, and business-development activities
- Assist with forensic investigations and technical support relating to construction disputes when required
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a closely related accredited discipline
- At least 4 years of relevant professional experience
- Experience in building-envelope consulting, structural engineering, architectural engineering, building restoration, or a related field
- Active Engineer-in-Training registration
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prepare clear technical reports, drawings, specifications, and project documentation
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and communicate effectively with clients and project teams
- Willingness to perform fieldwork and travel to project sites throughout the region
- Valid driver's license
- Authorization to work in the United States
Preferred Qualifications
- Active Professional Engineer license
- Experience managing projects from initial assessment through construction completion
- Knowledge of façades, roofing, waterproofing, structural repair, concrete restoration, and building-envelope systems
- Experience investigating leaks, construction defects, and building-performance issues
- Familiarity with material-manufacturer systems and repair products
- Experience with bid assistance, construction administration, and contractor oversight
- Previous client-management or business-development involvement
