The Role

As a Structural Project Engineer, you will play a key role in the design and delivery of complex structural engineering projects from concept through construction. Working closely with senior engineers and project teams, you will take ownership of structural analysis, design calculations, project coordination, and technical documentation. The position offers the opportunity to lead project tasks, mentor junior team members, collaborate with clients and design partners, and contribute to the successful execution of projects across a diverse range of building sectors. This role is well suited to an engineer who enjoys balancing technical expertise with project leadership and client engagement.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for a variety of building projects across multiple market sectors.
• Develop engineering calculations, technical documentation, and construction documents.
• Coordinate structural designs with architectural, mechanical, electrical, and other engineering disciplines.
• Support the selection and design of structural systems and building materials.
• Lead project tasks, manage schedules, and assist with overall project delivery.
• Guide and coordinate design team members to ensure project objectives are achieved.
• Conduct quality assurance and quality control reviews of engineering deliverables.
• Prepare technical reports, structural assessments, and investigation findings.
• Support construction administration activities, including RFIs, submittal reviews, shop drawing reviews, and site observations.
• Participate in peer reviews and technical evaluations.
• Attend client meetings, provide project updates, and support ongoing client relationships.
• Assist with business development initiatives and proposal support where required.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related discipline with a structural focus.
• Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Architectural Engineering with a structural emphasis.
• Minimum of 4 years of structural engineering experience focused on building design projects.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license with structural experience.
• Strong understanding of structural systems, including steel, concrete, masonry, and wood construction.
• Proficiency with RAM Structural System, Tekla Structural Designer, Revit, and BIM 360.
• Experience producing structural calculations, specifications, and construction documents.
• Familiarity with applicable building codes and industry standards.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary project teams.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proven problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to mentor and support junior engineering staff.
