Superintendent - Light Industrial Construction - DFW
A well-established commercial construction organization is seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead the field execution of ground-up and expansion light industrial projects throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth market. This individual will play a critical role in delivering high-quality facilities while maintaining safety, schedule, and client satisfaction from site mobilization through project closeout.
The ideal candidate has a strong background managing industrial construction projects such as manufacturing facilities, warehouse and distribution centers, service and maintenance facilities, transportation-related buildings, and other complex commercial projects. This role is best suited for a hands-on leader who excels at coordinating subcontractors, maintaining project momentum, and fostering strong working relationships with ownership teams, design professionals, and trade partners.
Responsibilities
- Lead all on-site construction activities from groundbreaking through final turnover.
- Develop, maintain, and enforce project schedules to ensure milestones and completion dates are achieved.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel.
- Conduct daily site inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards, quality expectations, and project specifications.
- Manage project logistics, sequencing, and workflow to maximize productivity.
- Facilitate weekly subcontractor and coordination meetings.
- Work closely with Project Managers to identify and resolve schedule, budget, and constructability challenges.
- Monitor and document project progress through daily reports, photographs, and field communication.
- Maintain positive relationships with owners, architects, engineers, inspectors, and trade partners.
- Review drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and project documents to ensure accurate execution.
- Oversee punch list completion, commissioning activities, and project closeout requirements.
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and quality on every project.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent managing commercial or industrial construction projects.
- Proven experience leading ground-up light industrial projects.
- Strong knowledge of industrial construction methods, building systems, and site development.
- Ability to manage multiple subcontractors and maintain aggressive project schedules.
- Experience with warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, transportation, maintenance, service, or similar industrial facility construction preferred.
- Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and jobsite safety practices.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Procore, Microsoft Office, and construction scheduling software is preferred.
